Matsuko F Watts

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Matsuko “Yoko” Watts, who passed away peacefully after a long and courageous health battle.

Born and raised in Japan, Yoko carried with her the grace, strength, and kindness that would become the hallmark of her life. Decades ago, she made the United States her home, where she built a life centered on hard work, compassion, and service to others.

Yoko was the proud owner of Yoko’s Alterations in Pensacola, Florida. Through her exceptional talent as a seamstress and business owner, she touched the lives of countless customers who came to know not only her remarkable craftsmanship but also her warm smile, generous spirit, and genuine care. Her business became a cherished part of the Pensacola community, and she earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Above all, Yoko was a devoted wife, a loving sister, and a cherished aunt. Her family was the center of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering generosity.

Yoko is survived by her sister, Kay Temple of Florida, as well as her sisters in Japan, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends across the United States and Japan. She will also be deeply missed by her treasured friends and fellow members of her SGI Buddhist community, whose lives were enriched by her kindness, wisdom, and steadfast faith.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Yoko’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her life was a beautiful example of perseverance, compassion, and selfless service. She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep affection.
