A bright star left this Earth to shine above us. Sweet Maxine, the girl with a heart of gold, passed away on July 23. She touched so many lives the short time she was with us and has left us all with a piece of our hearts missing. She was loyal, loving, funny, wild, straightforward, trusting, adventurous, beautiful inside and out, caring, generous, practical, fun, accepting, a bright, bright light for all of us. She had so many friends and family members who loved her more than she ever knew.

She leaves behind to pick up the pieces: her mother, Marcy Eskanos; sister, Lily Eskanos (Michael) Anderson; aunts, Lee Ann (Steve) Nelson, Lois Brown, Sara (Jeffrey) Rosen, Sandi (Andor) Schwartz, Karen Connelly; uncles, George Brown, Danny Eskanos and Robby Eskanos; nephew, Gavin Anderson; grandparents, Mel and Louise Eskanos; many cousins and so many friends of all ages and walks of life, notably her “Dad,” Ken Miller and best friend, Abbey Jackson.

The world, for those who knew her, will never be the same. The outpouring of love for Maxine to her family is a testament to the positive impact she has made on so many lives. She may be gone, but her light will shine on within all who had the great fortune to know her.

The family cordially invites friends to a visitation at Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., immediately followed by a service in the chapel and at her final resting spot.

If there is a desire to make a donation in her memory, please do so to either Pit Bull Rescue https://apbf.dog/ or the Israel Birthright Foundation https://birthrightisrael.foundation/

Maxine, maxine, maxine. She was one of the most outgoing and smart women I met when i moved to Florida. When I started at Jasons Deli Maxine was one of the first girls I became friends with. She was so kind to customers and her coworkers. She was the life of the party and deserves so much more life. I hope you rest in peace babygirl.

We met for the 1st time on 4th of July in 2017 and you had such a huge personality, along with Caroline and it saddens me that this would inevitably be our last interaction. You loved and you were loved back. Nothing held you back and I will always respect you for that. rest easy Maxine.

Sweetest Maxine...you will forever be the baby in the playpen at work, the sassy teen who moved into the garage and young lady with an opinion about EVERYTHING! So charming, so loved and always cherished! My heart hurts for what will never be, the pain that never leaves and the tears that will forever flow. Watch over your mom and sister as they need you now more than ever!

Heartfelt condolences to you, Marcy, and to the entire family and all the friends affected by this sudden and tragic passing of the brightness and vibrancy of Maxine. I will always remember her wonderful Bas Mitzvah and how she shone brightly that day.
Rest In Peace, Maxine, you are missed.

Maxine holds a special place in the hearts and memories of a group of my friends. During our two year flight school training, we began to make weekly visits to a local restaurant where Maxine worked. It wasn't long before we began to regularly request her service, as she ALWAYS found ways to make us laugh and brighten our often stressful and demanding days. Upon completion of our training, and prior to departing the area, we made a point of visiting Maxine to express our sincere gratitude for being one of best parts of our Pensacola experience. We are all so lucky to have crossed paths with such a beautiful soul.

I switched to the same middle school as Maxine in 8th grade. Maxine was one of the few people who would talk to me. She always reached out to me and asked me to have lunch with her. She was such a kind hearted and beautiful soul. I am so thankful for her and how amazing she was to me. ❤️

I remember spending a lot of time with Maxine in the pool doing swim lessons. She was so excited to learn everything about swimming and water safety.
