Megan passed into the arms of Jesus on March 22, 2020 at her home in Pensacola, Florida. She is survived by her loving parents, Steve and Cheri Gibson of Pensacola and her brother and best friend, Shea Gibson of Truckee, California.
Megan was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on June 26, 1981. She was welcomed by her 11-month-old brother, Shea. They were Gibson Irish Twins and so proud of that fact. Best buds.
Megan graduated from Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, class of 1999. There she had a wonderful life full of great friends. She was a junior high cheerleader and a member of the first OGH swim team. She also swam on the City swim team, Hub Fins. She was born to be a swimmer! A natural. It was her passion until she left us way too soon.
After graduating high school, Megan moved to Ukiah, California where she earned a degree as a physical therapist assistant from Sonoma College in Santa Rosa, California. She loved her job and was cherished by her patients and co-workers. She had a loving soul, big beautiful smile and precious southern accent. Megan was so proud to tell people that she was from Mississippi. The years in Ukiah were some of the best of her life. She relocated to Pensacola in 2017 to be closer to family.
Due to the situation in our country at this time, her family has chosen to postpone her memorial service until such a time that those of us that loved her can feel at ease travelling and gathering together to celebrate her life and say goodbye.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home.
