Melvin Douglas Crowter stepped into heaven and into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of November 22, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. He was a member of Northridge Church and deeply cherished the faith community he found there. Melvin retired from ECUA after 20 years of dedicated service, and he was a proud Mason for more than three decades.
Full of life, Melvin was known for his contagious laugh and warm, welcoming smile. He loved hunting, fishing, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with those he loved most. He never met a stranger, and his kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his daughters, Melissa Crowter Higgins (Ed) and Michele Crowter Grissett (Ford); four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Sue Crowter; his mother, Mae Carnley Owen; and his sister, Carol Satterwhite.
He will be deeply missed and forever treasured.
A visitation will be held on November 26, 2025, at 10:00 am at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM
