

He was the widower and soulmate of Judith Donaldson. They shared 28 years of marriage. Judy’s death preceded his by five months.
Born in Vincennes, Indiana, Michael was the son of Clarence and Lura Catherine Donaldson. Michael was a Vietnam War veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division, and a Purple Heart recipient. Upon completing military service, he was employed at Peerless Pump as a salesman and hydraulic engineer. During retirement, Michael and Judy patented and successfully sold “Snuggle Pillows” for pets.
Michael was an outgoing, convivial man who had the “gift of the gab” and could make conversation and form fast friendships with everyone he met. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life smile, kindness, work ethic, service to country, and devotion to Judy and the life they built together.
Michael loved and was extremely proud his only child, Dr. Rachel Donaldson, M.D. He is survived by his daughter and her fiancée, Tyler Arrigoni; only grandchild, Rowan Arrigoni; stepchildren, Tracy Derck Harris and Daniel Derck, and his beloved miniature Dachshund, Hershey.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Donaldson; mother, Lura Donaldson; brother, Tommy Donaldson; brother, Danny Donaldson; sister, Mary Lou Donaldson; and his wife, Judy Donaldson.
Visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506, US, on September 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL 32508, US, on September 11, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
