Mildred "Millie" Key passed away on October 11, 2020 in Pensacola, Florida. She was born on May 14, 1927 in Clopton, Alabama to Cora Ryles and Arthur Lee Key. She moved to several farms in that area due to being a share-cropper's daughter.
She graduated from Blue Springs Hight School. As a young woman, she and her youngest sister, Pat, left their home to become waitresses at a local restaurant. She and her sister then moved to Columbus, Georgia. It was there that she met and married Edward Dustin on March 18, 1953. He was active duty Army at the time. They moved to MD to be near his family. They relocated to Pensacola in 1979. In 1986, she flew to Berlin, Germany to visit her daughter.
Millie's hobbies included volunteering at Warrington Baptist Church, the React Program (with our neighbor Jim Carden) and volunteering daily at W.E.A.C. for 40 years. She also enjoyed going to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with her daughter, Linda, and son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her five siblings; and her loving husband, Edward.
Millie will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends, who she loved spending time with.
A funeral mass for Mildred will be held from 9:30 am - 10:30 am on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 303 S. Navy Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32507. Burial will immediately follow the mass, where she will join Edward, at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
