Monte Richard Tredway, Sr., age 86, died peacefully at home on February 24, 2015, in Pensacola, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Mimiva; their four sons, Monte (Cindy), Mark (Amy, deceased), Chris (Michelle) and Curtis (Bethany); his brother, Donald; and his grandchildren, Natalie, and Alexandra Tredway; Ben, Connal, Gabriel, Holly, Fiona, Duncan and Rowan Stevens; Jarrod and Jonathan Tredway; Sarah, Holly, Trent, Kyra and Sean Tredway. He was preceded in death by his brother Alfred.
Monte was born on November 10, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN, to parents Alfred and Lenore Tredway. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1946-49 and then attended the University of Arkansas and Hendrix College. He worked for many years in the field of commercial finance for Whirlpool Corporation, Chrysler Finance and Citicorp. Outside of work Monte enjoyed the study of history, reading, telling a good joke and engaging others in lively debate.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at the First Christian Church in Pensacola. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with refreshments and fellowship afterwards. Expressions of remembrance and condolences may be made at www.bayviewfisher-pouchapel.com.
