Nichole Elizabeth Loring

July 11, 1977January 31, 2019

Dr. Nichole Elizabeth Loring, July 11, 1977 On January 31, 2019, Nichole left her earthly body behind and made her way to Heaven’s gates. Her final days were spent surrounded by those whom loved her and had been touched by Nichole in some way throughout her life and career. Nichole accomplished so much with her time on this Earth. She graduated Valedictorian from Lutheran High School South in St. Louis, MO in 1995. She then attended and graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with honors in 1999 with a Major in Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. She proudly served as an Aerospace Maintenance Duty officer until 2004. Nichole then chose to follow her true passion and further her education with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from University of Florida in 2009. Her knowledge and understanding of the veterinary field, her care and compassion for her patients, and the comfort level the animals felt around her was truly God given. She shared an incredible bond with her son Grayson. They were each other’s worlds. She always made sure he had fun and you could see the love and pride she had for him every time she looked at him or spoke of him. Nichole is survived by her son Grayson D. Riccio, father Stanley Nations and mother JoAnn Loring. She was preceded in death by her grandparents who adopted her, Arnold and Geraldine Bekemeyer. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2pm. Hillcrest Church Spanish Trail 3960 Spanish Trail Rd. Pensacola, FL 32504

I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole and son Grayson while we were both visiting my niece. Nicole was a person you met and felt you had known her forever! Such a vibrant, intelligent, compassionate , and beautiful woman. The love she shared with her patients, her friends and the many hours she donated her time to care for animals in need, will forever be remembered. Taken away at a very young age is such a hard thing to understand. However, I know that God needed a wonderful soul such as Nicole and she will be watching over all that loved her so much.
Our thoughts and prayers are for little Grayson, the love of her life. May all the love your Mother surrounded you with carry your far in life and never forget.

I only knew Dr. Loring for a short time, but in that time, she saved the life of one of my dogs. I had taken Elvis in to have him euthanized as he had hurt his back and could no longer walk. He'd been dragging his back legs for several weeks and was so unhappy. Dr. Loring recommended trying physical therapy on him first and if that didn't work, then we would put him down. Well, we did and Elvis took a few steps after his first treatment! It has now been 1 1/2 years since he started PT and he's still going strong - at 11 years of age. She was a great vet who saw beyond the immediate injury and because of her, Elvis will remain with the family as long as he can. And it's all because of this amazing woman who realized the love for a family pet and the potential another type of treatment might offer him. She had so much more to give and so many more animals to help. I'm sorry that the world has lost such a gifted woman.

Our collie mix was in kidney failure and had been given 3 to 6 months to live when we met Dr. Loring. She changed things in Jelly's care and gave her a good life for one and a half more years. She had a special gift and will be missed greatly. Sending prayers to her friends and family.

In the short time we knew Dr. Loring, she emitted such a kindred spirit and beautiful soul. She was so caring, loving and passionate about her work. Her smile and laugh was contagious and would always brighten my day. She made extra efforts in taking special care of our senior dane, Bella Marie. Prayers to her beloved family and friends, as she will be missed.

She was one of the best vets I ever worked with. Her compassion for animals was undeniable. I had to put my dog to sleep today so I hope she finds Nichole and says hi!

Nichole was one of the friendliest, sweetest and most caring persons I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Those traits served her well along with her skills and experience in treating, administering medical aide, and conducting surgery on animals of all sorts. Her years of experience as an Emergency Room Doctor at a veterinary hospital served her well. I am blessed that the Lord allowed our paths to cross, because of Dr. Loring's skill and experience she was able to save my dog's life. Dr. Loring's "bedside manner" was like everything she did - GREAT! She never forgot Lizzy's name and Lizzy would start crying whenever she saw the Doctor who would get down on her knee (or knees) and scratch, hug and make over Lizzy longer than she needed to. But the bottom line to all this is , Dr. Loring saved my dog's life through expert diagnosis and having the experience, knowledge and expertise to do what was needed. I am so forever grateful to Dr. Loring and our family, including Lizzy, will never, ever forget her. I'm sure Nichole would have saved thousands of more animals had she not been called so early to the Lord. But she made the world a better place because she was here.
