

She was born on Jan. 3, 1939 to Emily Alice Horn Pitts and William Dewey Pitts from Clay County Alabama.
She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 87 years old. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; Emily Alice Horn Pitts and William Dewey Pitts, and her beloved husband of 42 years William Ronald Johnson, her daughter, Rebecca Penton Cardona; grandson, William Adam Aslanian; stepdaughter, Rhea Johnson; brothers, Paul Edward Pitts (Anita), William Thomas Pitts, Robert Colin Pitts, Wendell Graves Pitts, Danielly Nixon Pitts, Gary Dewey Pitts (Veatrice), and James Quinton Pitts, sisters; Sara Jo Horne, Freda Alice Butler Horne, Emily June Boxx, and Doris Yvonne Boutwell.
She is survived by two daughters; Linda Penton Kelley (Gene) and Brenda Penton Revill (Ray); one son-in-law, Mark Cardona; one sister, Elaine Pitts Wiggins (Marvin); seven grandchildren, William Shannon DeSpain, Brigette Ann Robinson (Ronald), Raymond Stacey DeSpain (Michelle), Claude Marc
Belanger (Jessica), Carl Rodney Aslanian, Stephanie Lynn Jarman (Jason), and Ashleigh Aslanian Cardona; a loving stepson, Chris Johnson and stepdaughter, Kimberly Johnson, and a very loved, spoiled loyal companion, her fur baby Holly. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was A Blessed Woman Indeed.
