Pamela was born in Brewton, AL, on February 27, 1956. She was the first of three children of William Calvin Waller and Virginia Maurine Waller. She grew up with her younger brother, Cal, and her younger sister, Donna. Pamela lived in Augusta, GA, before moving to Pensacola, FL, in 1963, where she lived most of her life. She attended Scenic Heights Elementary, Ferry Pass Junior High, and Woodham High School, where she graduated in 1974. She graduated from the University of West Florida with a BS in Medical Technology. She then married Henry Thornton Venus Jr. in 1981, and they had a daughter, Natalie, and a son, Michael. Pamela began her career with Sacred Heart Health System in February of 1982 as a bench tech in Hematology. She held multiple positions in the lab throughout her career, was well-known as an excellent teacher/trainer of new techs, and was considered an expert in hematology. She was incredibly well-liked and respected by her colleagues and finally retired on April 06, 2015, as the Lab’s Quality Assurance Coordinator.
She spent the majority of her retirement with her growing family. She truly loved her grandchildren and always wanted to do something fun. She went on many amazing vacations all around the world. She was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and followed them closely. She loved to cook and read, and one of her favorite places to be was at the beach. She was sadly diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in February 2023 and courageously fought a 17-month battle. Proceeding her in death are her parents, William Calvin Waller and Virginia Maurine Waller. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Henry Thornton Venus Jr.; her two children, Natalie Venus Biglane and William Michael Venus (Samantha); three grandchildren, Adriana Carmen Venus, Jackson Floyd Biglane, and Michael Ezekiel Venus. She is also survived by her brother, William Calvin Waller Jr., her sister, Donna Waller Hipp, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Pamela was a kind and gentle soul. She was incredibly strong and graceful. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.
