Patricia Ann Wuthrich was born November 19th, 1935 to Ross Lanier and Ola Faye (Bolton) Pittman in Mexia, Texas. She passed peacefully February 21st, 2024, in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross Pittman and Ola Faye (Pittman) Williams; her son Richard Eli Wuthrich Jr.; her daughter Richelle Wuthrich Edwards; and her brothers Ross Pittman Jr. and Thomas Pittman.
Patricia was joined in holy matrimony to Richard Eli Wuthrich on September 8th, 1956 at the Naval Air Station Chapel in Pensacola, Florida. She and Richard were happily wed for 67 wonderful years and from their union they had two children, their oldest son Richard and their youngest daughter Richelle.
She is survived by her loving husband Richard Eli Wuthrich of Lillian, Alabama; three grandchildren, Erin Edwards of Strafford, Missouri, Heather VanNess and her husband Calen of Marshfield, Missouri, and Sean Edwards of Hartville, Missouri; and six great grandchildren, Emmiree, Addilee, Esmay, and Dimitri Edwards, and Archer and Cayson VanNess.
Patricia spent her childhood in the surrounding area of Dallas, Texas where she enjoyed spending her summers with loved ones on their family ranch. Patricia was very talented and enjoyed art at an early age. She would spend her days sketching and painting outdoor landscapes, florals, or even family members willing to stand in as she created many beautiful pieces that decorate her home that she shared with her husband in Lillian, Alabama. Patricia enjoyed music and especially dance starting back from her childhood years of ballet and tap dance lessons her mother enlisted her in. Although she did enjoy the arts, she also had a passion for animals. She grew fond of her family pony and small piglet that lived on the ranch. She owned and loved on many dogs of different breeds through her childhood and into adulthood. She was always known to love her on pets, especially her recent yorkie, Mack.
Her other passions in life were fashion, hosting special events, and cuisine. She always had a matching set or complimentary accessories that could pull her outfits together for any event. She was a social butterfly and thrived when hosting the many events over the years of being a military spouse. Growing up in Texas and then traveling with her family due to her husband’s prestigious military career, Patricia was known for her outstanding abilities in the kitchen. She enjoyed creating delicious meals for friends and families during her social events. She especially loved southern foods and Hispanic flavors that reminded her of her Texan roots.
Patricia definitely lived by the reputation of being a strong Texan who knew how to stand on her own and keep the household and her family functioning during the months her husband was deployed. She often reminisced about the places she traveled to because of the military. From the frigid cold of Alaska to the sunny beaches of Hawaii, she could persevere through any of life’s storms.
She had many experiences and challenges she overcame in life but would always mention her strength came from her faith in the Lord and her devoted husband. Patricia spent her remaining years with her best friend and husband Richard after his retirement from the Navy. She enjoyed regular Friday night dates at the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club before faithfully attending Saturday evening mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
