Desert Storm Navy Veteran Patrick Edward Olcott Sr., 43, entered into God’s heavenly eternal kingdom suddenly, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his home in Pensacola, Florida. The son of the deceased Margaret-Mary DeVos, Patrick was originally from Chicago, Illinois, born December 1, 1968. Before his naval career guided him to Pensacola, Patrick also served onboard the US Navy destroyer USS Moosbrugger. He is survived by his loving wife Charlene, his brother George, four children Jessie, Amanda, Margaret, Patrick Jr. and one grandchild, Audrey. Patrick was a well-known and likeable fixture at Naval Air Station Pensacola where he worked as the primary maintenance mechanic for the base’s bachelor quarters. The Olcott family is a member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Bellview, where Patrick also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Warrington on Monday April 16, 2012 from 5pm until 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church at 11am Tuesday April 17, 2012. Pallbearers will include Greg Majewski, Stephen Majewski, George Olcott, Patrick Olcott Jr., Chuck Nelson, and Dylan Nelson. A full military honors burial service will follow at Fort Barrancus National Cemetery aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
