He was born and raised in Winona, Minn., and after graduating from Winona High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Schreiber served his country for 30 years, retiring as a Senior Chief and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
During his military career and in retirement, he was an enthusiast of sports officiating.
He also earned an associate's degree in business from Pensacola Junior College.
Mr. Schreiber is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruthann, daughter Faith (Gary) Schut of Longmont, Colo., son Robert (Kathy) Schreiber of Pensacola and grandchildren Garry, Will and Katelyn.
A funeral procession will leave Oak Lawn Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday. Those who wish to participate are asked to arrive no later than 1:15.
Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, where Mr. Schreiber will be buried with full military honors.
