
Peggy Jo “Kim” York, 83, of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord on November 09, 2013. Kim was born on October 24, 1930 in Moundsville, WV to Gideon Kimberly and Violet Vivian Whiblen. She is preceded in death by her sisters XeLee and Helen; and grandchildren, Carrina and Jennifer. Kim is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack York; son, David; daughters, Dawn Eisert and Dana Grantham (Wayne); grandchildren, Malisha, Nathan, Melanie, Peter, David; and great grandchildren, Devin, Austyn and Weston. She will be remembered for her humor and love for everyone. She served four years in the Navy, leaving with an honorable discharge. She then worked for the Pensacola News Journal until she had to retire, due to medical reasons. Her smile and her laughter will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. A graveside service, officiated by Chaplain Ken Griffin, will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Friday, December 06, 2013 at 2pm. Procession will be from Oak Lawn Funeral Home, leaving promptly at 1:30pm. Special thanks to the ICU nurses at West Florida Hospital and the nurses at Select Specialty Hospital ICU.
