Polly J. Weaver, age 69, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 peacefully at home with family. Polly was born on May 18, 1950 in Oakland, California to Robert Franklin Jowers and Wilma Lee Simpler Jowers.
Polly lived in Pensacola, Florida from the time she was a teenager. She met Leonard "Jack" Weaver at Pensacola NAS Hospital when he was recovering from an injury acquired serving in the Navy in Vietnam. They were married for 42 years until he passed away in 2014.
Polly had a passion for caring for children and cats. She retired from teaching ESE Pre-K at Warrington Elementary School. Her classroom, like her home, was always filled with singing, dancing, and reading. She poured her heart and lots of love into all of her roles as Mom, Mimi (grandma and great grandma), sister, friend, aunt, teacher, neighbor and cat parent. Her light, love and positive energy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Franklin Jowers and Wilma Lee Simpler Jowers; husband, Leonard Weaver "Jack"; and son, Ted Jowers Weaver.
Polly is survived by her loving daughters, Amber O'Neal Anson (Eric), Andrea Nicole Weaver; sisters, Brenda De Leo, Janet Lundquist (Scott), Kathy Mueller (Jeff); granddaughters, Kyla Tori Weaver, Camryn Tayla Clinard, Brielle Haleigh Moore; grandsons, Connor Franklin Anson, Dylan Jack Anson; and great grandson, Zakari Jaxon Weaver.
A visitation for Polly will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
