Polly Weller Welch 1934-2018
Polly Weller Welch passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, reuniting in heaven with the love of her life, Charles K. Weller. Polly was born in Donalsonville, Georgia on January 20, 1934. She moved to Pensacola in 1950, where she married Charles and they spent the next 38 years together and raised three children. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, road tripping to flea markets and casinos, attending church, socializing and being in charge. Many years after losing Charles, Polly was fortunate to find a second love and companion, Frank Welch, whom she married in 2001. They enjoyed their golden years together, fishing, thrift shopping and giving each other a hard time. Polly is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles K. Weller, her second husband, Nathan “Frank” Welch, her parents: Jesse and Claudia “Mikie” Carter and son-in-law, Jerry L. Gunn. She is survived by her three children: son Robert Weller and his dear wife Sylvia; her beloved daughter Hilda Brazel and husband Garvin “Butch,” whom she called her son, and daughter Iris Pugh and husband Bill; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her life-long friend and travel buddy, Ailene Parker. The family would like to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice, who treated her like their own mother, the staff of Santa Rosa Health & Rehab, who kept her comfortable and lovingly cared for her at the end of her life and Dr. Richard Sellers and his assistant, Brian, for their professional and compassionate care. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cantonment, with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home following the service. Condolences to the family. We are sorry to hear of the passing of Polly.
John and Frank are cousins and we enjoyed visiting with them when we
could make the trip to Pensacola to visit with them and his aunt. May God comfort you in the loss.

Grandma and grandpa loved to travel. I remember many trips the Keys, the Smokey's, Mexico, Chattanooga, and Out West. Those were the best trips. Grandpa loved his bananas and coffee. Grandma had many good friends and family past before her. I know they were all there to greet her with open arms and lots of love.
