

Ray joined the U. S. Navy Dec. 7, 1942 and served at Attu, Alaska during WW II and then later in North Africa. Worked as a civilian with the Marines in Vietnam & Japan, from 1965 thru 1973 where he met & married Mai. Retired in 1986 after 13 Years Civil Service, 9 years as Field Engineer for Raytheon Corp., and 20 Years of U. S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer, Aviation Fire Control Technician.(AQC). Life member of Fleet Reserve Association (FRA), branch 22, Pensacola Fl, Veterans Of Foreign War Post 706, Pensacola, Fl., American Legion Post 60 of Logansport, In. and North American Hunt Club. Lifelong member of Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile, Indiana. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping and bowling. Was the first to bowl a perfect 300 game at NAS Pensacola.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 44 years; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald & Jan Louthain of Myrtle Beach, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Yvonne of Pocahontas, AR; son John Louthain of Memphis, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Glenn Coleman of Fayetteville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Kim and Alex Spurkel of Van Nuys, CA; and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren. Siblings include five brothers & 3 sisters, Russell (deceased), Merrill, Darl & Donnie of Logansport, IN, James (deceased), Jane Andrews of Anderson, SC, Priscilla Frank & Sharon Carter of Rochester, IN. Graduate of Twelve Mile, In. High School class of 1942, and many military technical schools. Ray asks in lieu of flowers; please donate to Fleet Reserve Association, branch 22 of Pensacola, FL.
