Mrs. Sisk passed away February 25, 2026, at Vitas Healthcare in Pensacola, FL. She was born in Roanoke, Alabama and resided in Alabama until 1959. She graduated from Handley High School in 1954 and received her Bachelor and Masters Degree from Auburn University where her 33-year teaching career began as a graduate student.
Mrs. Sisk taught in the Escambia County School System at Brentwood Jr. High, Pensacola High and Woodham High until 1969. She retired as a professor of family and consumer sciences, from Pensacola State College in 1993.
Mrs. Sisk was honored in her profession as a member of Kappa Omicron Nu, Delta Kappa Gamma, The World of Who’s Who of American Education, Two Thousand Notable Women, Community Leaders and Noteworthy Americans, The International Directory of Distinguished Leadership and in 2019 a Lifetime Achievement award.
Mrs. Sisk was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sisk; her son, Kenneth Sisk and her parents, Arthur D. Benefield and Sollie Benefield Riley. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Sisk and daughter-in-law, Renee Sisk; two grandchildren, Rachel Cianciotto (Andy) and Michaela Long; one great-grandchild, Nathan Cianciotto, all of Pensacola.
Mrs. Sisk was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ where she was active in Disciples Women.
