

Reneau Baker Dominey, age 97, of Pensacola, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Labor Day September 7, 2026. He was born August 4, 1929 in Clayton, Alabama to the late Raymond J and Claudie B Dominey.
Reneau was called to full time Christian ministry, at an early age, and attended Howard College (Samford University) in Birmingham. He met his wife Jean Marie Patterson, while attending New Orleans Baptist Seminary, where her father (Eugene N Patterson) was a Professor and Department Chair of Greek, Homiletics, and Theology. After leaving Seminary, he pastored several churches in the Mississippi and Mobile areas. He went on to be pastor of the First Baptist Church in Greensboro, Florida, prior to locating his young Family to Pensacola, Florida in 1963, as Pastor of Oakcrest Baptist Church. He spent the 1st half of his life as a full time Pastor to numerous Southern Baptist Churches, and the 2nd half as a bi-vocational pastor and school teacher. During these years, he served as pastor at Lillian Baptist Church and Ensley Baptist Church while teaching 5th grade at Century Elementary School. He, along with his Wife (Jean Marie Dominey – also a 5th grade teacher at Oakcrest Elementary School) raised 4 boys.
Reneau was preceded in death by his Loving and Devoted wife (Jean Marie), parents (Raymond J. and Claudie B.), brother (Raymond G.), oldest son (Gerald) and youngest son (David) and nephew Ryan F. Dominey.
Reneau leaves behind his, son Raymond N. (Emma), son John M. (Marcia), daughter-in-law Deana, cousin Sarah Gissendanner Clifton, niece Patricia Dominey Solley, six grandchildren Leigh Ann, Lori, Melissa, Diana, Edward, and Sarah, and six great grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Sylvia, Will, Issac, Ada Jean Marie, and one on the way.
A Closed Casket Graveside Service will be held on Saturday September 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Myrtle Grove Cemetery located at 1134 North 57th Ave 32506 (Corner of 57th Ave and Lillian Highway).
Immediately following the Graveside Service, a reception will be held at the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church located at 5920 Lillian Hwy 32506 (across the street about ½ block West of the Cemetery).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made (in his name) to the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Youth Program.
