Richard G. Carter Jr, of Pensacola, FL, went to his Heavenly home on March 27, 2025. Dick was born on September 9, 1946 in Selma, AL, to parents Richard Sr. and Dixie Carter. As a young man, Dick attended Escambia High School and graduated in 1964. He then went on to attend Livingston University in Alabama and graduated in 1968. Dick began his career in automotive for Firestone, before transitioning into his life-long career as an owner and operator of Wholesale Tire Brokers in West Pensacola. He began his entrepreneurship in the early ‘80’s and remained in business until his retirement in 2020.
Dick is survived by his wife of 33 years, Trish Carter and their children, Deanna (Tim) Smith, Richard (Jennifer) Carter, Sherrie (Chris) Gay, Amy Ross, Tanya (Pablo) Garcia; grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Tristan, Heather, Tiffany, Paul, Samantha, Cody and Courtney; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy (Cathy) Carter and Tommy (Pauline) Carter; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandmother. Dick loved his family and will be deeply missed. He also loved music and was a huge history buff. Dick was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Roll Tide!
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3rd at 10 am at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, with a funeral service beginning at 11 am and burial at Bayview Memorial Park to follow. Serving as pallbearers are Allan Register, Tristan Bardin, Paul Garcia, Jake Kendrick, Ryan Smith and Pablo Garcia.
