LCDR Robert "Bob" Konrad

He was born July 14, 1943, in Roebling, New Jersey, to Peter and Helen Konrad. He graduated from Florence High School, in Florence, New Jersey, in 1961.

On August 2, 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He married Elizabeth Reeder (aka Sparkles) on December 26, 1964. He did several sea tours to include the USS Fulton, USS America, USS Canopus, USS Simon Lake and USS Emory S. Land. His shore tours included Seal Team 6, Atlantic Fleet Weapons Training Facility in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, NAS Pensacola and a few others. He retired from the U.S. Navy on August 2, 1992.

Bob is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, children Robert and Danielle; grandchildren Robert and Bradley; brothers and sisters Peter (Sr.), John (Sr.), Frank (Sr.), Helene Schair, Stephen, Marie Pancoast and Paul; sister and brother-in-laws Betty, Florence, Jean, Gladys Grove, Richard Pancoast (Sr.) and Charles Reeder; daughter-in-law Kerry and many, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony, Joseph and Andrew; sister and brother-in-laws Joan, Delores, Joan, Marie, John, Carl, and Bill.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5th from 10:00 - 12:00 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Emerald Coast Hospice. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
