Robert (Bob) Edward Neafsey, age 91 of Pensacola, FL, passed away on May 23, 2020. Bob was born in Hackensack, NJ on January 7, 1929 and was part of the Bogota High School class of 1947. Bob served in the U.S. Navy reserves and active duty U.S. Navy during the 1950’s and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. He earned a degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University going to school at night while he worked. During his life he lived in Washington Township NJ, Denver CO, Diamondhead MS, Pensacola FL and Crystal River FL.
Bob is survived by daughters Beverly Sorensen (Al) and Laurajean Murphy (Vincent).
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 35 years Tomasina Neafsey, the mother of Beverly and Laurajean, his wife of 16 years Sharon Helton, his wife of 8 years Doris Sartorio and sister Claire Habel.
He began a 34 year career with N.J. Bell after discharge from the Navy. He started in the Installation and Repair organization. He eventually rose to the rank of N.J. Bell District level manager where he was part of the Divestiture program to separate AT&T from the Operating Companies and Western Electric. He volunteered many years with the Telephone Pioneers of America. He retired from N.J. Bell in 1987. Bob then became a real estate broker for the state of Colorado and started Buyers Preferred Realty. Bob was an avid sailor and enjoyed sailing, restoring old cars and traveling in his various RV’s.
Bob’s remains will be interred with Tomasina Neafsey in the family mausoleum in Hackensack, NJ when a family trip can be planned. He requested no services.
Bob can be memorialized through donations to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Petsmart Charities.
