Rodney Doyle Keller was born in Pensacola on October 23, 1949 and was delivered to the arms of Our Lord on Monday, January 26th. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Keller and Vera (Grissett) Keller. He was the brother of Brenda (Keller) Pierce and Marilyn (Keller) Stewart. He was the husband of Bette Ann (Libbey) Keller and the father of Heather Anne Keller and Alyson Lai Keller. Rodney was the grandfather of Josilyn, Jacob and James and the great-grandfather of Haze.
Soon after his graduation from Escambia High School, Rodney enlisted in the Army serving a tour in Vietnam as a helo mechanic. Upon leaving the Army, he became a very successful business man in Pensacola. He was the owner and operator of Keller’s Locksmith for over 25 years and was a master locksmith at his trade. He was also employed as a locksmith with the Escambia School Board for over 10 years.
Rodney was a devoted husband and father. He and Bette were high school sweethearts and were married in 1970. They were married for 54 years celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2020. Rodney Keller was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a quiet, reliable man who went to work every day in support of his family. He was a dear friend to all who knew him and he will be truly missed by all who loved him.
A visitation for Rodney will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL 32503. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 9:30 AM. A committal with honors will occur Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Pensacola, FL 32507.
