He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Coltman Chirpe. Roger leaves behind his two daughters, Pamela (Dave) Mooney, and Victoria Chirpe Callihan as well as 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 5 grand pups. All of those he loved with all his heart and soul.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 21, 1939. His childhood in Arlington Heights instilled a lifelong passion of singing classical and opera, and he loved to listen to all kinds of genres of music but, his favorites were Andre Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. Roger and Barbara eloped after a Purdue football game and never looked back. Together they made 64 years of lifelong memories.
All friends and family are welcome. Celebration of Life will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel & Bayview Memorial Park; Saturday, August 17th at 11:30am.
