As a young man, he joined the United States Air Force where he later retired, specializing in communications and Morse code translations. After his time in the military, Doc began a career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service where he remained for 15 years. He was also an active member in VFW Post 4407.
Doc enjoyed spending his time tending to his flowers in his garden, doing crossword puzzles, and watching the birds in his yard. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle Hallada, brother Carl Hallada, grandson Nathan, and sister Donna Benzinger. Doc is preceded in passing by his parents, as well as, his daughter, Pamela Mittelsteadt, and his grandson Jeremy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 9am at Bayview Fisher –Pou Chapel, with a funeral service to follow.
