Went to school and hunted with Roger when we were kids. It's good to read what a positive impact he had on so many.

Daddy not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I will cherish you and the memories I have with you for the rest of my life. I will miss our phone talks and the advise you would give me. You were such a wise man and I loved to get your take on things. I'll never forget when I got married and you carrying me over those river rocks, riding in that carriage you talking and keeping me calm, and then you walking me down the aisle. This was just one day of so many that I will cherish. Another one that I think of a lot was the night we listened to Jimmy Buffet and danced in the driveway I remember Gammers being there and dancing but what I remember most about that night is watching you and mom dance. I could see how much you loved eachother and it was beautiful to watch. Thank you for being the man that you were, for everything you taught me. I will love you for the rest of my life, until I see you again.

My father-in-law raised the most loving family that I am so blessed to be part of. I will remember him for his strength and his love for his family. I miss you Dad. I'm taking good care of our little Ethan.

I'm so proud that I am your son. You taught me so much. To think what I could have learned if I would have payed attention to everything you tried to teach me. You were the best father a son could ask for. I will miss everything about you. I will miss the way you were so strong in what you believed in and the way you stood up for that. My grandson Ethan born July 11th. Roger meet Ethan in Heaven before any of us got to meet him. Ethan your Paw Paw loved you, he used to ask every day how your mom was. He was waiting to meet you and he did in passing, but he is watching over you and the rest of us and loves us very much. He is so proud of all his grandchildren.

Roger always had the nicest smile everytime I would see him. He and Janet have always been the most welcoming people I have ever known. They have three wonderful children. Their daughter Kim is my daughter in law. I could not have asked for a more caring and beautiful individual to have married my son. We have always been invited to their  Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to share with their family and I have many great memories. I remember the first Thanksgiving we shared with them. They invited my Father and Step Mother to come along with us. Janet and Gammers cooked so much food. That Thanksgiving Day has always been one of my favorite memories of all my life. My Dad talks about that Thanksgiving Day often. I have watched their family grow throughout the years. They have five grandchildren, one of which I am blessed to share with them. They are a very loving and special group of people. I Love You All.

Thankful for the memories that I have of Roger and his sweet family. He raised 3 children that I know he has to be so proud of. What a blessing for me to have been given an opportunity to see such love that he had for his family. I met Roger when my son Brandon married his daughter Kim. Little did I know I had just met my best freind.As life now carries on I feel blessed that I have many good memories of Roger to take with me.

I miss Roger everyday.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of him.  A part of our family is gone and we all feel it. It is so hard to imagine that we will not see his awesome smile and hear his laugh and see the love in his eyes when he held his grandchildren.  He was so proud of his family.  I was very lucky to have shared many years as his sister in law.  The days (and nights) of playing ping pong hanging out at his and Jan's house with all of our friends around.  The chickens in the yard when he would go get one and try to get it to kiss us!  He loved to have a great time.  I loved him very much.  May god bless my Sissy and her family during this time.  I love you all!

Uncle Roger was a great person who I will miss very much.  He was always very loving to me and made me feel very special.  I always knew we were going to have fun when he was around.  I loved his laugh, no one laughed like him.  It makes me happy to think of all of my childhood memories because he was in so many of them.  I can't imagine not seeing him the next time we all get together, although I know I will see him again one day after my days are over here on Earth.  Uncle Roger, please tell my Granny, Ronnie, and all of our other family members that have gone on before us "hi" for me.  I love you and I'll see you again one day soon.

I loved my Uncle Roger so much and will miss him dearly. He was always so much fun to be around and had a laugh and smile that could always just make my day. I have so much respect for my Uncle Roger. I look back and almost all of my childhood memories have you in them. I will always treasure our vacations and holidays. I met Roger in 1997 when I had the fortune to meet and later marry his only daughter Kimberly. He was an awsome individual and we got along great from day one. He taught me many things, especially mechanics. We shared countless wonderful times over the years. If you could imagine the ideal father-in-law, he was that, a second father. He will always be missed by myself, Kim, his granddaughter Abbie and many many others.

I sure am gonna miss you Uncle Roger.  I love that you always had joy in your heart, a smile on your face, and a joke coming out of your mouth.  Losing you has reminded me how lucky I am to have grown up with such a great family, and also how important that family is to me.  I know you'll be looking down on us from heaven sending some laughs our way through the years.

Knowing Roger and most of the family, I have held a special place in my heart for Roger as a friend for more years than I can remember. Being teenagers with him and his brothers, I have fond memories, hunting with him and his dad, fishing, working many years together. Watching his inter-actions with his kids in the early years living in Pace. Always enjoyed the long talks on the phone, after he left the PNJ. Being out of sight, does not mean out mind. Through out the years there have been so many things that have reminded me of Roger and I know that will continue for years to come.

     Well, like a lot of you men or boys in the early 70's, I found my way to the Pensacola News Journal's late night mail-room follies. Yes, we worked all night and had lots of fun and some nights were non-stop laughs. Roger was one of the main characters in all the antics. You could always count on Roger for a non-stop barrage of jokes. This sure made the night of work fly by. I was a few years younger than Roger, and he was one of the so-called ‘senior folks' in the mail-room. I recall potato-shooting guns between the press runs, putting people's small cars on the loading platforms, to name a few. We were all young and had fun together, night after night. Roger, thanks for the memories.

I worked with Roger for 20 years at Atlanta Offset.  There he  was a father figure to many of us, a friend to me as well as a co-worker. Daryl and I wish to express our prayers and sympathy to his family.

To Rogers family,I am sorry I never got the chance to meet you. And so wish I could be there. We all hung out together, Roger, Chuck Jofferion, Tommy Judkins, Gene Cheatham, in the late 60's and early 70's. I left Pensacola in 71. I'll always remember Rogers free sprit and smile.
