If you knew Ronnie you knew he was an avid sports fan! His love of the Yankees, Rangers, Giants and Knicks was evident as he watched 2 TVs at the same time as well as picking games up on the radio.

We are confident that in 1981 there was a baseball strike just so that he would have no distractions and friends from church were able to come and spend time with him and he accepted Jesus.

Ronnie also loved music! He loved the oldies but goodies but his number one was Johnny Cash! Even as he was struggling recently, if we put on Johnny Cash his lips would move and his fingers would be tapping!

He worked for the same company right out of high school up until he retired at the age of 62 in 2002. That’s crazy by today’s standards, it’s rare that one stays with the same company. He faithfully commuted into Manhattan, Monday-Friday working the 9-5! I don’t ever remember him calling in sick ... ever. I think that’s where Joey and I get our work ethic.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 58 years Flo, they were married on September 15, 1962! He is also survived by his daughter Diane Lynn and son Joseph Michael and their two grandsons Keith Christopher and Stone Tyler.

Dear Flo, I am so sadden by the loss of Ron, as we worked together for 17 1/2 years at Iselin. We had much fun with all of our co-workers. I remember you both coming to my home here in Brooklyn. I will always have good memories of him.
God be with you as you grieve for him.
God Bless you and your family.

Ronnie O! What wonderful memories of you!! So easy to get along with and always a kind word. For many years, I got to see Ron in bible studies, singing his heart out in worship to the Lord, and active in so many other areas of our church. So much fun watching Ron and his team mates play softball every week! I can't unsee the stacks of soda at his home. Do I have this right? Was it Root Beer he loved? LOL More than that, he loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Ron was a perfect gentleman and has a special place in all of our hearts. Willie and I send our condolences to all of Ronnie's beautiful family. We love you!

Ronnie!!!!!! So many memories- retreats, being involved with the youth group together, tennis, your toothpick (weirdest thing ever!!!!), your two TVs, the Bible studies in your house, singing together while walking in sandy cove, you taking me and whatever friend was with me in your hotel room during thunderstorms at sandy cove, hiking, tennis, your funny eating habits. Rejoicing at your being promoted to glory and sending lots of love to you family (whom I love).

It was my pleasure to know and admire such an avid Yankee fanatic like myself and we had some great memories of playing on the Maspeth Crusaders softball team. This is where I learned about Jesus when praying 🙏 before each game we played and, in 1983 , accepting the Lord God as my personal Savior. Ron, it was so great to call you my friend and brother in the Lord. We know the angels are rejoicing and can't wait until we sing and praise God together once again. 🙌
