Rose Rhymes (Ima Rose Bush), 94, passed away on August 24, 2022 at Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Rhymes Sr. They shared 70 years of blessed marriage together.
Born in Howell, Georgia, she was the daughter of parents John Luther Bush Sr. and Lois Daugharty Bush Parrott. She graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School. She founded Gospel Lighthouse Bible Book Stores in 1967, eventually expanding into a chain of 13 stores along the Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was active teaching Sunday school into her 80s. In the 1970s, she created a Christian Youth group called The Happening. She was president of the Women’s Aglow Chapter in Pensacola. She loved to witness and pray for anyone in need. She was active in prison ministry for many years, witnessing to many inmates. She was active member of First Assembly of God for many decades.
She is survived by children Sharon Miller, Brenda Plotner (Wayne), James Rhymes Jr, Janet Wilson.

The funeral service will be held at Pensacola First Assembly of God 4301 Bayou Blvd. August 31, 2022 Family Visitation will be 10:30 – 11:00, public visitation will be 11:00 -12:00 and service will be at 12:00. Interment will be at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens 1985 West 9 mile rd, Pensacola, Fl 32534.
Reception at Pensacola First Assembly of God Fellowship hall after the interment, open to family and friends.
