He first met his beautiful bride, Rosetta Coleman, in Pensacola, FL while attending his grandmother’s church service at the age of 14; she was 12. He promised for years that he would “marry that girl one day.” And on January 1, 1955 he asked for her hand in marriage at midnight. They wed on June 10, 1955. Together, they built a loving home; raising four wonderful boys: Roy Randal “Randy”, Ronald Devan “Ronnie”, Richard Allan “Ricky”, and Robert Scott “Robbie”.
He worked for Gulf Power Company at the Crist Plant nearly 37 years; where he shared his knowledge and innovation with others while providing for his family. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, provider, supporter, giver, and friend. He loved the Lord and his family above all else.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred; father, Carvin; sister, Janice; and son; Randy (Cyndey). He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Rosetta; sons, Ronnie (Melissa), Ricky, and Robbie (Carol); 12 grandchildren Miranda, Lesley, Rachael (Jerry), Scott (Laura), Caitlin (George), Ronnie (Susan), Buddy (Sherrie), Elizabeth (Josh), Carolyn (John), Jack, Brian, and Jessie; and 15 great grandchildren that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends and family for visitation at Bayview Fisher-Pou on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 11:00am.
