Russell was educated in the Chicago school system. He played football in High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Russell's career consisted of him working for Abbott Laboratory in Illinois at MacDonald in Pensacola.
Memories of Russell will be cherished by his wife Lee Olivia Lewis, his four daughters, Stacey Lewis, Morgan Lewis, Nicole Lewis, and Traci Moultry. Five Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren and a host of Cousins, Uncles, Aunts, and friends.
