

Ruth M. McDonald (06/01/1919 - 11/29/2014) passed away of natural causes in her Pensacola home on Saturday, November 29th. Ruth (95) was a native of Pensacola and the daughter of L. A. and Myrtis Perdue Maygarden also of Pensacola. Her siblings, Lora Maygarden Walters and surviving brother, L. A. Maygarden Jr. with their spouses Judge Walters and Jean Saxon Maygarden all contributed to a large local family. Ruth attended Allie Yniestra elementary school and the original Pensacola High School. She married Warren Edward McDonald in the early 40's and honored that marriage until Warren's death in 1988. After a brief career with the telephone company, Ruth spent many years raising her and Warren's 2 sons, Richard and Chuck, and later worked for the State of Florida until she retired. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and many aspects of horticulture all of her life. Ruth is survived by her 2 sons, 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, her brother, and a host of nieces and nephews and their families.Services will be held at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Friday, 12/05/2014 at 10:00AM. Visitation will commence an hour earlier and there will be a short graveside service following the main service. Fisher-Pou Chapel will be officiating the service and eulogy presented by The Honorable Jerry Louis Maygarden,former Mayor of Pensacola.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emerald Coast Hospice, 1555 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida 32501.
