Born on April 11, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida, Sandra was the cherished daughter of John Vernon Turner and Jonnie McDonald Turner. She was predeceased by her parents and son, Michael Dean Kennedy, and daughter, Shanda Denise Butler. She was a woman of deep Christian faith with a kind heart and soft spoken word for any who would listen. Sandra immensely enjoyed God’s created nature and loved watching the antics of the squirrels and birds outside her home as well as the affections of the various dog and cat pets she had over the years. She was a talented artist and particularly loved displaying her creations at home as well as presenting them to family members. These artistic talents extended to her employment as a cosmetologist, always striving to make “her ladies” look their best.
Family was her first priority. Her gentle spirit, firm guidance, caring heart, and kindness will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen S. Hoxie, son, David W. Kennedy, step-son, Stephen, Jr., and wife Peggy, step-son Adam C., as well as 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, and also two brothers, Vernon Turner and John Michael Turner.
A memorial service will be held on September 26, 2026, at Brownsville Church, 3100 W Desoto St., Pensacola. Visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the Reception Hall.
