Sandra was born January 20, 1944, in Mobile, AL to Oscar and Hazel Skoglund. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1962. Sandra met and married Donald Lockhart in 1964. As a devoted Air Force wife, she traveled the world and raised her family. Upon her husband’s retirement in 1981 they settled in Pensacola, FL.
Sandra worked in the banking business for many years and finally in the job she was always meant for, the church secretary at Bellview Assembly of God. She loved working with her pastor, her church family, pastors throughout the Pensacola area and evangelists from around the world. In 2007, after nearly 20 years at Bellview, Sandra retired to care for her husband.
During her lifetime, she was an avid shell collector, loved to paint, sew, macrame, and play the piano. When she wasn’t fulfilling her artistic side, she loved to cook and bake. Anyone with the opportunity to taste what she created in the kitchen was truly blessed. In her later years, nothing made her happier than sharing time with family and friends. It always left a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents, siblings Winnie Ruth, Raymond and Clyde Skoglund and husband Donald Lockhart. She is survived by her son Keith Lockhart (Vern Peacock), her daughter Karen Townley (Jason), her granddaughters Jennifer Pearson (Collin), Kate Townley and great grandchildren Emma Pearson and Rowdy Pearson. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, honorary children and grandchildren, you all know who you are.
The family would like to thank her loyal friend and caregiver Patty Foster and Emerald Coast Hospice for the incredible care, love, and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, October 28, 2024, at 8:30 AM with funeral services beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
