Shawn Christopher Kenneth Brodie

(1981-2017)

Shawn Brodie, 36, was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 9, 1981. He moved to Pensacola, Florida when he was ten years old, and made this area his permanent home. He passed away on April 29, 2017 after suffering a pontine brain hemorrhage. At the time of his death, Shawn was surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his sweetheart and loving wife of 13 years, Sharon Spears Brodie, their son, Noah Shawn Brodie, his parents, Kenneth and Carole Brodie, his brother Rodney Allen, mother-in-law, Madie Spears, and many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Shawn worked as a police officer with the Pensacola Police Department until 2013. In 2014, he began working at Loomis in the cash management systems department. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Florida State Seminole fan. He loved to camp, travel, and spend time with his family as often as he could. Shawn’s love for his wife and son was immense, and there were no doubts of his affections towards his family in the presence of others.

Shawn attended and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he volunteered his time working at the desk with his wife in the children’s ministry. He also attended Eastside Assembly of God with his in-laws. Shawn loved the Lord, his family, and friends with all of his heart.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Mancini, and his father-in-law, Ronald Spears. Pallbearers for the service will be: Scott Perkins, Don Tedder, Jason Szot, William Lawrence, Dan Hoffman, Christian Monlezun, Toby Castner, Allen Felts, Ron Boutin, and Ken Kercher. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Eastside Assembly of God Church, 2990 East Kingsfield Road, Cantonment, Florida. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Eastside Assembly of God, followed by a committal service at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, Florida.
