With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Sheila, who peacefully departed this life on August 2, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sheila married the love of her life, Horace Myrick, and they were married for 56 years. They raised three children in the country, where she was the center of the family. She was always caring for others and had dinner and coffee on the table at 5:00 p.m.
Sheila was the heart of our family. She lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering love, and remarkable resilience. Her greatest joy was the people she loved, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, offering comfort through her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring heart.
She was a woman of strong Christian faith, and her trust in the Lord guided her throughout her life. She found peace in prayer and strength in God’s promises, and she shared that faith through the way she loved and cared for others. We take comfort in knowing she believed in eternal life and is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. We also hold onto the hope that one day we will be reunited with her in Heaven.
She taught us the importance of kindness, hard work, perseverance, and faith. Whether through a simple conversation, a family gathering, or the countless ways she showed up for those she loved, she left an imprint on each of our lives that will never fade.
She is survived by her loving daughter Sharon (Ricky) McCrory, daughter-in-law Terri, and Jan Myrick; grandchildren Tiffany (Mike) Settle, Regina Myrick, Monica (Ryan) Scully, Robert (Brittany) Myrick, Shane (Lisa) McCrory, and Brandon (Gina) McCrory; many great-grandchildren; her sister Doris Smith; and many other family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Neva Bryant; her husband Horace Myrick; her sons, Doug and Alvin Myrick; and her sister, Shirley Philips.
Although our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she is no longer suffering and is now resting in the presence of our Lord. Her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to her family will continue to live on through each of us.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Bellview Church of Christ at 11:30 AM. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the church. Interment will follow the service in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, hospice staff, and everyone who cared for Shelia with such compassion during her final days.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
