Pensacola, FL. Shelby King Nall passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 6,2021.
Shelby was born on August 8, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father Willie T. Nall, his beloved mother Myrtice Wise Nall, his brothers Enoch, Marlon, Olen and Adrian, his sisters Emmanette Hughes and Louise Powell.
He was raised in McCullough, Alabama, where he enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his horse.
After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of service. He then continued to work another 26 years at Personnel Activity Support Detachment at NAS Pensacola. During this time he achieved his mother’s wish of obtaining a college education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of West Florida.
Shelby was a faithful Christian and taught Bible classes for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Milestone.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and Proud Poppy (Pop) whose grandchildren were the highlight of his life.
He was always caring and thoughtful. There was nothing he would not do for his family.
He cherished his time as a volunteer at his grandson’s elementary school. He considered having received the Outstanding Volunteer awards as one of his greatest honors.
Those left to cherish his memories are Jennette, his wife of 64 years, his son Michael (Glenda), his daughter, Michele Cleary (Mike), grandchildren Kaitlyn Nall, Stephen Cleary, Jackson Nall, and great grandson, Jonathan Tarter. Sister, Wilda Knox (Tom), Aurora Crook (Charles), Myra Barton (Bill), sisters-in-law, Hazel Higdon, Joyce Esneul, one aunt Ruth Vickery and many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 a private service will be held.
