

Sheryl Jean (Mallen) Seely, 72, of Pensacola, FL died Sunday, 12 September at her home.
Sheryl was born 12 March 1949 in Rochester, NY to Major John L. Mallen, USAF and Shirley Ann (Winnek) Mallen.
She attended St. Anges High School in Rochester, NY graduating in 1967 and attended Monroe Community College. She married John J. Seely, 3 January 1981 in Webster, NY, and had celebrated 40 years of marriage in January.
Early in her childhood she lived in several states and countries as a result of her father’s military service and in later years with her husband in San Diego, CA and settling in Florida. She had previously been employed by Lawyer’s Co-op in Rochester, NY until her marriage and upon settling in Pensacola, FL, she worked for Pensacola Restaurant Supply (PENKO) from 1983 to 2005 and then for several Navy Contractors at Saufley Field and Naval Air Station Pensacola until she retired in 2016. Sheryl was a member of the Myrtle Grove Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
Sheryl will be remembered as the fun loving. quirky mom and “stepmom” who never pushed or tried to make things anything more than that just that, the mom who would go out of her way to make you feel welcome. The person who could be a rock and in the next moment cry with you. She will be remembered as “Bingo Ma” as she loved the game and going to the casinos.
Survived by spouse John Seely, son Scott J. (Desiree) of Tampa, FL, step-daughters, Kara Jagodinski (Marty) East Aurora, NY, Tina Wingerter (Mark) Cheektowaga, NY, grandchildren: Branden Seely (Dilsboro, IN), Shawn Wingerter (Cheektowaga, NY), Bryanna (McKenzie Fletcher) Jagodzinski (Raeford, NC), Melissa Wingerter (Cheektowaga, NY), Connor Jagodzinski (East Aurora, NY), Alanna Seely (Tampa, FL), Ethan Seely (Tampa, FL), Kaitlyn Wingerter (Cheektowaga, NY) and Alexis Seely (Tampa, FL). She is also survived by her sister Leslie Boles of Flagstaff, AZ and brother, John Mallen of Lahaina, HI; also numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents John (1964) and Shirley (1977), grandson Aiden Seely (2005), and brother-in-law Larry Boles (2019).
Sheryl requested that there be no services, internment will be at the convenience of the family; Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Pensacola, FL is in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ascension Sacred Heart (Oncology Department) and Regency Hospice for their support and care through Sheryl’s illness.
