Shirley Bouchillon Fisher passed away November 8, 2020 after a heroic and sometimes humorous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howe Fisher, Sr. and son, William Howe Fisher, Jr. (Jacqueline). She is survived by sister, Marjorie Alexander; son, Thomas Alston Fisher; daughter, Jennifer Fisher Miles (Michael); grandchildren, Danielle Fisher, Allen Will, Shane Fisher, Bradley Fisher, Carly Fisher, Jeremy Miles and Benjamin Miles; and 15 great grandchildren. Shirley loved her family, her ‘cracker box’ home, and a good stout beer. She volunteered often at St. John the Evangelist School for her children and grandchildren and her community through Emerald Coast Hospice and St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry with Pensacola Country Club and Club Solitaire. Shirley was a graceful lady, easily laughed and kind to her soul, because of that she truly was easy to love…. And was loved by all that met and spent any time with her. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at a later date. May the love of family and friends carry you through this difficult time. I will always have such fond memories of Shirley. Shirley had a tasteful and refined way about her. Never an unkind word to say to anyone. A true lady she was such a pleasure. We will miss her.

Oh such wonderful memories of Shirley at Emerald Coast Hospice! She was such a delight and a ray of sunshine on "craft days". I learned so much from Shirley. She was kind and humorous. So dedicated to serving our patients. Though it has been years, I have thought of her often. She actually came to mind just yesterday! Shirley, you will be truly missed. I will eat a piece of dark chocolate in your honor!
May her memory be eternal.

Because of the unselfish caring nature of Shirley (and her daughter, Jennifer) our Aunt Sis (Florence Vaughan) was able to remain in her home much longer than she otherwise could have. Their daily visits and grocery shopping were a blessing to Flo and to us. A true guardian angel on earth who will undoubtedly keep that role in Heaven.

Each of our visits ended back at Shirley’s home for dessert and coffee and she was a most gracious host. A fond memory, after she agonized over paint colors for about a year, is that she let us paint her bedrooms.

Our love to the family,

Chris Bouchillon

Another thing to add is 'classy.' Mrs. Fisher was 100% classy. She had an elegance to her. She was my awesome Den mother as a Cub Scout. She was always good to me and I appreciate her kindness. She was quick with a smile and she made me feel good just being in her presence. God bless you Mrs. Fisher just as you have blessed so many.

Aunt Shirley was one truly one of a kind. She was so kind and such a sweet, gentle soul. Always smiling, laughing with that infectious laugh of hers and such a joy to be around. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her. Please know that she and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry to hear about your mother. I met your mom my senior year of high school and we became close friends until I married and moved away. Although we lost touch I often thought of her and the many good times we had. Your mention of her “love of her crackerbox home” reminded me she used that description of certain things even back then. She was a lovely, funny girl. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rita Kirchoffer Lattimer

So many wonderful memories of Aunt Shirley's kindness, encouragement, hospitality, and tough love. Shirley always showed understanding and compassion towards family and strangers alike. Such a pleasure to talk with her about our family's history in Pensacola. Also, much appreciation for all of the times she opened her home for family gatherings and, of course, amazing food. Shirley will be missed.

Peaceful thoughts and condolences to her children and families, her sister Margie, and our extended family everywhere.
