

On August 19, 2013, Shirley Jean Hopkins, 69 years old, passed away at home with her loving family present. Shirley is survived by her husband Bill Hopkins and three children; Bob Findley, Michelle Beard, her husband James, Bernice Wozniak and her husband Greg. Shirley was blessed with five grandchildren with whom she adored; Petty Officer 2nd Class USN Kala Findley, Elissa Findley, Summer Stewart, Jacob Timothy Stewart, and Aiden Wozniak. Shirley was the youngest of five children and is also survived by two siblings, Jimmy Spikes and Florence Jones.
Shirley is a graduate of Theodore High School, Theodore, Alabama. She worked for 35 years for the Department of Defense and retired from Civil Service Naval Air Station Pensacola. Shirley’s past times included gardening and sewing. Shirley also was one of the best cooks ever. If a recipe described her it would be a ½ cup outspoken, ¼ cup of spunk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, a shake of love and a dash of spice.
Join us in celebrating her life, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Oak Lawn Funeral home, Pensacola, FL. The funeral service will be held at 1pm, with visitation and reception one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
