He was born April 28, 1952 in Washington D.C. to Gilbert Encinias and Robbie Wood Encinias, moving to Pensacola at the age of 23. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves for 30 years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. Steven worked for the U. S. Government in purchasing before retiring after 23 years of service. He went on to receive his Bachelors of Education Degree from UWF at the age of 53 at which time he became a teacher retiring in 2010. Steven loved to cook holiday meals for his family, fishing, camping and working in his yard. Known as a notorious prankster, Steven never passed up the opportunity to prank someone.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Encinias and Jerry Trobaugh.
Surviving Steven are his wife of 45 years, Phyllis Encinias; sons, Joshua Allyn Encinias and Christopher Curtis Encinias (Kaedyn Encinias); brothers, Ben Encinias (Mary), Jeff Encinias (Sandy) and Bryon Encinias; sister, Teresa Clark (Mike); and his four special friends, Odio, Lady Bird, Babee and Little Guy; many nieces and nephews.
Military honors will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 02, 2021 at Barrancas National Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Loaves and Fishes in memory of Steven.
