September 29, 1939 – May 29, 2025
Theodore (Ted) Edwin Reddinger passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on September 29, 1939, in Cornwall, Pennsylvania, Ted’s journey was marked by resilience, dedication, and love for his family and country.
Ted grew up in humble beginnings as one of seven children in a small mining town during the Great Depression. The challenges of his early life shaped his determination to create a different path. With a vision to escape the constraints of his hometown and a desire to serve, Ted enlisted in the United States Army in 1958.
During his distinguished military career, Ted served as an infantryman, including two tours in Vietnam. His courage and commitment earned him the Bronze Star with Combat “V.” After 23 years of service, he retired from the Army in 1981 as a Sergeant First Class, yet his dedication to his country continued. Ted worked for NADEP in aircraft recovery at NAS Pensacola, where he served for an additional 16 years, culminating in a remarkable 39 years of service.
Ted’s personal life reflected the same passion and dedication he brought to his professional life. A devoted husband to Agnes Reddinger, his love for her was evident in everything he did. Ted was a detail-oriented man who found joy in providing for his family, tending to his yard, and embracing the simpler pleasures of life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes Reddinger, his daughters Tanya Strickland and Michelle Nash, his son Theodore T. Reddinger, and eight grandchildren. Ted’s legacy of strength, love, and service will forever be cherished by his family and all who knew him.
A funeral service to honor Ted’s life and contributions will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou at a later date, followed by interment with military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Rest in peace, Ted. Your unwavering spirit and love will remain with us always.
