Thomas "Tom" Berrigan

March 4, 1951 - August 23, 2025

Thomas (Tom) Berrigan of Pensacola, Florida passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 23, 2025. Tom was born on March 4, 1951 in Pearisburg, Virginia, the son of Eugene Louis Berrigan and Anne Tomko Berrigan. Tom attended high school in Villa St. Jean, Fribourg, Switzerland, and graduated from Woodham High School in Pensacola, where he lettered in four different sports. He then went on to attend the University of Florida where he played basketball and earned both his undergraduate degree and law degree. Upon graduation, Tom returned to Pensacola to work with the District and Florida State Attorney's office for over 30 years. He prosecuted many cases during his tenure, always striving for justice.

Tom was an avid art collector, wine connoisseur, Jeopardy participant and grandfather, who loved nothing more than to spend time with his beloved "G-Dots" (granddaughters). Tom also had a passion for sailing, travel, and considered himself an amateur gourmand. He supported many veterans and USO programs throughout his career and in retirement. Tom's humility, unwavering integrity, graceful diplomacy, and warm sense of humor were qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

Tom is lovingly remembered by his son, Colin Berrigan, and Colin's wife, Cara Berrigan, along with their cherished daughters, Cora and Chloe Berrigan (Tom's G-Dots). He is also survived by his sister Marianne Berrigan Lavergne, and her husband Ed Lavergne; his brother Mark Berrigan, and his wife Patricia Berrigan as well as his beloved nephew, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.

Tom was a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Pensacola. A celebration of Tom's life will be held Friday August 29th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bayview Fisher-Pou (3351 Scenic Hwy #90e, Pensacola, FL 32503). A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday August 30th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church (3131 Hyde Park Rd, Pensacola, FL 32503) with a reception to follow at Tom's home at 2251 Oxford Drive, Pensacola, FL 32503.
