Tien Thi Pham

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Tiến Thị Phạm. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Pensacola Vietnamese-American community. She entered eternal rest at the age of 86 on the 15th of April 2025. Born in Thức Hóa Bùi Chu, Vietnam in 1939, Maria Tiến could be described as a brave and resilient person. Her life’s journey embodied strength, faith, and a deep devotion to God and family. In 1975, alongside her husband, she fled the devastation of war, bringing her 9 children and parents in search of a better life. That bravery laid the foundation for generations to come. Settling in her new country, Maria Tiến worked tirelessly alongside her husband to provide for their family. She was immensely proud to become a U.S. citizen. A devout Catholic, she lived her life with unwavering faith in God and was a founding and active member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church. Her devotion was evident not only in her daily prayers but also in the love and care she gave to everyone, and in her insistence in making sure everyone was well and fed. Her smile was big, her laugh was infectious, and her energy was boundless. She was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family – 10 children, 29 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren – each of whom carries a piece of her spirit forward. She is preceded in death by her husband, her youngest son, and both sets of parents. She is survived by her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her memory and legacy will live on in her family and the community that she served. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and love and having a well-lived life, prosperous beyond her origins. We would like to thank everyone for your prayers and love. We also want to acknowledge Dr. Michelle Brandhorst and Dr. Dany El-sayeh, and their staff for the tremendous love and care she received throughout the years.
