Vernon served his country with distinction in the United States Navy, retiring as an aviation storekeeper. His years of service reflected a steady sense of duty and a commitment to doing important work with care and reliability.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen McCulley. He is survived by his sons, Mike McCulley (Karen Trittschuh), Johnny Webster McCulley (Karen), and Robert McCulley (Marlene); and by his daughter, Marianne Mortimer.
Graveside service with full Navy Honors will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola Naval Air Station, Florida, 32508 at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026.
