

She was born 22 March 1939 in Campton KY.
She left behind her significant other, Richard McDaniels; sons, Homer E. Carter Jr, (Brenda) of Dayton Ohio and John F. Carter of Miamisburg Ohio. She adored her 6 grandchildren, Judy Kohorst of Kettering Ohio, Robert Carter (Emily) of Park Layne Ohio, Amanda Simpson of Germantown Ohio, Shelby Carter of Kettering Ohio, Jason Baer (Meghan) of St. Augustine Florida and Amy Borges (Lance) of St. Augustine Florida along with sister Edith Branson, 10 great grandchildren and numerous brothers-in laws, sisters in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins to fill a phone book.
Her two daughters, Dawn D. Baer and Tina L. Carter preceded her in death.
She was a dedicated employee of the Pensacola Greyhound Track. She was born and raised on a Kentucky farm and was able to travel the world including Europe and living in Americas coast to coast. She was passionate about reading and gardening. Numerous hobbies included ceramics, fishing, quilting, and arts and crafts. Virgie was always eager to make friends. She was A great southern country cook and nobody left her home hungry. Virgie was huge fan of Kentucky University basketball. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
A visitation for Virgie will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a funeral service with committal prayer from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
