Virginia Laney Hambrick, age 102, passed away on Sunday, April 23, in Largo, Florida. She was born on November 27, 1920 in Chipley, Florida to Judd and Ila Laney. A longtime resident of Pensacola until 2021, Virginia retired after 32 years of civilian service with the Department of the Navy in 1979. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gordon A. Hambrick, Jr., and sisters Louise Hightower, Loyce Fowler, and Jo Anna Stevenson. She is survived by her sons, Gordon A. Hambrick, III (Judith) of Placitas, New Mexico and Robert L. Hambrick (Suzanne) of Clearwater, Florida; her sister, Patricia Brinson (James) of Pensacola; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
