

Wallace Sherald Craven, died Friday April 1st at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born to Barto and Gladys Bolt Craven on April 12, 1943 in Roanoke Alabama. He retired from the U.S. Navy with 22 years of service from 1965-1987, reaching the rank of AK1 (E-6). He enjoyed watching college football, NASCAR, and golf, and he loved spending time with his friends and family. Member of the American Legion and VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: “Dock” Craven, Ellis Craven, C.B. Craven Jr. and Ralph Martin Craven; three sisters: Edna Character, Betty Frames, and Willie Senciboy.
Survived by: son Jason Craven (Trina) of Axis, AL, daughter Sonya Renee Head (Tommy) of Amory, MS, two brothers: Jim Craven (Dean) of Jacksonville, AL, and Wayne Craven (Belinda) of Hamilton, MS, one sister; Ellen Key (Ronnie) of Delta, AL; 3 sisters in-laws: Miriam Miller of Peach Tree City, GA, Carolyn Craven of Roanoke, AL, Jewell Craven of Anniston, AL; 6 grandchildren; Tyler Craven, Deziree Craven, Jaylen Cornett, Madison Cornett, Aiden Cornett, and Maggie Head, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Marc Senciboy, Bryan McCormack, David “Rich”Richardson, Randy Character, Stuart McCormack, and Don Holloway. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 10-11 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 11 am and burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating.
