He was born in Meiningen, Germany.
He served his country proudly for 20 years in the United States Air Force, and also retired from the United States Postal Service after 18 years.
He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elke C Langer; son, Dennis Langer (Beverly); grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Gunter Langer (Ingrid); and sister, Ursula Brummerloh.
