

He now resides within the gates of heaven where he is reunited with his son, Malcolm.
Vernon was born in Pensacola, FL, on December 30, 1943, to William Arnold Bray and Ruby Blackmon Bray. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an exceptional member of his community.
Vernon worked his entire adult life but landed at Phoenix Coating for 27 years and was respected for his hard work, dedication and loyalty.
Vernon met the love of his life, Lynda Gail Bray and they were married for 37 wonderful years.
Vernon was blessed with 7 children, sons, Malcolm Bray (deceased), Phillip Bray (Stephanie), Kelvin Bray, and daughter Tracy Palma. In addition, stepdaughters, Belinda Johnson (Dennis) Angela Pitman (Eddie) and Kimberly Hansford, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren whom he loved and adored.
Vernon was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and friends.
He was a man of integrity, always putting his family’s needs above his own.
His kind heart, and his willingness to un-selflessly to help others was one of his many wonderful traits.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Flora Bell Dunn, Ola Bray Kilgore, Lavender Bray Hill, Dale Bray Harveston, Virgie Bray Callaway.
Vernon will be deeply missed by many other family members and friends but never forgotten. Soar high and rest in peace.
A Visitation for William will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Burial will occur at Eastern Gate Memorial Cemetery.
