1917 - 2013
William D. (Jack) Cook, 96, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 15, 2013. He was born March 18, 1917 in Columbus, Georgia to John Calvin and Mary Naomi Cook. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. Jack was a proud World War II veteran who flew in the first bomber raid on D-Day and a Master Mason at Mount Hermon Grand Lodge of Georgia since 1946. He retired as an electrician from Monsanto after almost 30 years. Jack was a faithful Christian and a member of Plainview Baptist Church for 56 years. He never met a stranger and had a wonderful sense of humor. Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Eloise, and loving daughters, Dr. Marilee Caldwell and Kathy and Bill Robinson. He was "Papa" to grandchildren Jack Walther and Missy King; Allison Whitney and fiancé Matt Harper; Jaclyn and Marcus Jarman; Rick and Cole Robinson and 6 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madalyn, Parker, Peyton, Carter Jarman and Brooke Robinson. Services will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11am with Rev. Bill Flanigan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
